Verb - Tense in Scientific Writing

In general, we should stick to the present tense
We would use other verb tenses too but under specific scenarios:

PAST

  • previous work done by others
  • work that you did for the paper 
  • earlier sections in your paper


FUTURE

  • subsequent sections in your paper
  • future work
